My peacock "parrot" on my wrist. Raising tails, rattling tails like a rattlesnake, grooming, breeding, then the pea chicks a month later. He's about 18 years old, I raised him from an egg. He has a real personality! The erect tail has a parabolic shape (like a satellite dish) and focuses the rattling sound. Loud! Then the male makes a sound like a calliope and chases the hen. I missed all but the "tail" end of the calliope noise. Very loud and distinct. Later, the pea chicks hatch out, with feathers, ready to fly in a day!
