My only suggestion, and this may not be the problem at all, but make sure he’s got something to chew on at all times. He may need to chew his teeth down and is getting nippy because he may be in pain at his teeth getting a bit too long. You might also want to check his teeth to make sure or take him to a vet if he’s too touchy around that area. Like I said, this may not be the problem, but my rat Twiggy started getting nippy and that was the reason for her. Fatal if not taken care of!
