Is Snake Your Fear?

The few wicked varieties of snakes tend to make individuals overlook the good qualities of these reptiles. For some, they are a source of food. Their skin can be functional for leather, and snake venom is used to fabricate anticoagulants and pain relievers. Perhaps their greatest contribution is in rodent control. Rats and mice which damage vast amounts of foodstuffs are a major part of their diet. Snakes typically do not attack unless goaded. For this reason, a sane person can generally stay away from them. It is good not to walk without protective clothing through areas known to have snakes, or don’t go near them. Many individuals are bitten when they step with bare or sandaled feet on snakes hidden in the grass, or when they pick up this creature along with an armful of grass. Accident may happen even if you are very careful. This is definitely out of your control. Now, if someone gets bitten in spite of being careful, the first thing to do is to relax, don’t panic. Keep in mind, most snakes are not venomous, and even if somebody is bitten by a venomous one, all is not lost. There are two crucial ingredients in snake venom. One is hemolytic, attacks the lining of blood vessels and breaks up blood-corpuscles, and the other is neurotoxin, attacks the nerve centers. Here are basic steps to do when someone gets bitten by a snake. Fist, you have to lay the patient down, and give him no alcohol and keep him as still as possible. If the bite is near an edge, tie a band decisively on the side of the bite nearest the trunk of the body. Make sure the band is firm enough to hold back the blood flowing back through the veins to the body, but not so tight as to block the deep-lying vessels. Untie it for a minute and a half every 15 minutes. Well, much better if you get the patient to a doctor, and if possible kill the snake and bring it with you to help the doctor identify it.
